If there was anything I didn’t expect to take pictures of in Germany, it was of dudes surfing.
This is the Eisbach, a tributary of the Isar river, running through the Englischer Garten. That wave is constantly there due to a pump mechanism, and these dudes just surf around on it in turns. People crowd up around the banks and on top of the bridge to watch them. I wouldn’t say it’s surfing as much as it is skimming back and forth on top of a board, but it’s kind of mesmerizing to watch. In the middle picture you can see guys who fell off their boards way down the river - it’s actually running in that direction despite the wave cresting forwards.
